I Mix You

I'm a little later than usual posting but for a good reason. Carver slept in an extra hour! Instead of getting up (and coming to snuggle with us) at 6-630 he woke up at 720 only because Chris brought him into me on his way out the door to work. It was a great change but I might be kicking myself if he doesn't take a nap at his usual time.

I love the look of this retro type card. And no, I don't usually color stamps. I'm not confident enough but that might change when I get my next stamp of the month from Pink by Design. :) I used sketch #83 from OWH Stars & Stamps. I love how simple their sketches are and that they include the sizes of layers. It takes all the guess work out so you can just create.

Onesies Galore!!!

I was low on baby cards so I set out to stock up. I started by taking a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock and did an auto fill for the onesies. I figured, as many as would fit on one sheet would be how many cards I would make. Well, 9 onesies fit on the page. So I split it up 5 gender neutral, 2 boy and 2 girl.

Labor Layout

Yay! Another layout!! I'm to the point in my scrapbooking where all I have left is BIG events - Carver's birth, our wedding, to name a few. So I finally bit the bullet and started Carver's birth. This was the last picture of my bump before Carver was born. I originally wanted to be standing but my contractions were so severe and on top of each other so this was the best we got.

I love this girl! :)

Celebrate

I don't normally post on Sundays but I'm almost caught up on all the cards I've made lately and wanted to show you this fun card.

My friend gave me all of her old scrapbooking supplies that she had laying around. They were given to her when her son was born, almost 2yrs ago, and hasn't done anything with them. Well, they've been sitting in a pile on the corner of my desk for a couple months now and here's the first card I made with it. Everything on this card (minus the card base and twine) came from that stash. I also added some glossy accents to some of the dots on the pattern paper. We're thinking that this was an old Stampin Up! kit but we aren't really sure.

I'm excited to see what else I create with this stash. On another note, I'm thinking about starting up my Clearing the Clutter challenge. It was great to take a break over the summer but I'm thinking I'll start it back up in October. For those of you that are new around here, click on the label to the left for Clearing the Clutter to get an idea of what it's all about (go to the first post with that label).

Have a great Sunday. I'm off to church. :)

Pink Clouds?

... well I don't mind if I do! I got this great idea to use Pink by Design's Cloudy Days background stamp but use pink ink instead of blue. I love how it turned out! This is going to open up the door to other colored clouds. :) I may not get to them for awhile but they're definitely on my list of cards to make. ;)

The farmers market went pretty good today. My partner-in-crime and I decided to try having separate booths today (we usually share a booth) and it worked out pretty good. :) I won't be there next week but I'll be there the weekend after that (Sept 11th).

Bee Well Soon

I'm on a roll today! This is my second post of the day. This card had to be made in three different sittings. Between the heat (yes, our summer has finally arrived!), Carver wanting to 'help', and life, this card seemed to take forever!

Well however long it took to create, it came out exactly how I had envisioned in my head. Don't you just love when that happens? I made this for Pink by Design's challenge on their messageboard. This challenge was to create a get well card.

Side note: doodling on glitter paper isn't as easy as you'd think.

Baby Shower Cards

Here's a few baby shower cards I made. I found some maternity/shower paper in my stash that I never used for my son's scrapbook so I decided to use it instead of hold onto it for the next baby. I couldn't decide on a size so I cut two silhouettes at 3.25" and two at 3.75".

It's a Book of Books!

I'm a big reader. I love most books but I have my few favorites that I really like. Once I get a favorite, I tend to collect their books. One of those authors is Nora Roberts. I already have a bunch (my husband would say too many) of her books. When we go to Goodwill, yard sales or the book store, I tend to forget which books I have and will end up with duplicates. So I decided to make a list of all her books and check off whether I have them or not. Then I made a book out of them. That way I can put it in my purse where I'll always have it with me. :)

Bundle of Joy

This was originally going to be for Peachy Keen's Face it Friday challenge (shape card) but then I added the yellow backer paper and kind of ruined that idea. haha I took a folded piece of paper and ran it through my Big Shot with a spellbinders die positioned so that it didn't cut one side all the way (see second picture) to create a shape card. But then I realized that for that die set, it made the card too small. This would work better with a different set.

I LOVE how it turned out and will definitely be making more of these - with different die sets though. I used OWH Stars & Stamps sketch #81.

Prayer Request

A sweet family lost their 7 month old last night. Please pray for their family. If you'd like to see their blog, click here.

Baby Ruby had Caroli's disease/syndrome. This means there were several cysts, one being as large as 20% of her liver, that were blocking here biliary tree. They kept bile from leaving the liver as it should to digest food, etc. As it sat in her liver, it was damaging it, and leaving it very scarred. There was also risk that these pockets of bile could become infected.

I can't fathom what they are going through right now. No one should out live their children. My heart is breaking for them right now.

Love Stamp

I hadn't used my Wedding solutions cartridge in forever, so I pulled it out and found this sweet stamp. Right after I'd finished this, I saw that Emma at My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday challenge is to use a retired cartridge. Well, this cartridge is retired. :)

IT'S MY BLOGAVERSARY!!!!!!!

One year ago today, I started my crafting blog. When I started this, I never imagined I'd be this far with this many people liking what I create! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

I started scrapbooking when I was 16 years old and was introduced to the amazing cricut when I was pregnant with my son, Carver. It's changed my life. :) So what better thing to give away than a Cricut cartridge?!? And since my blog has a coffee theme, and we've had coffee themed giveaways all week, what better cartridge than the brand new Love You a Latte cartridge!!!!!

Leave a comment on this post for a chance to win this amazing cartridge!!! I'll be announcing winners tomorrow, August 5th.

What a productive night!

I made FIVE cards tonight! Wow! I could've kept going if my stomach wasn't telling me to put food into it. haha

This was a fun card that made me think outside the box. I used the current sketch by Peachy Keen and decided to heat emboss the clouds on the top. I used to heat emboss a lot awhile ago and then got out of it. Now, I'm slowly getting back into it. You might have to click on the picture to see the clouds. I wanted it to be subtle so that the circles were the main focus.

Blogaversary Week!!! Day One

My one year blogaversary is this week!!! I can't believe it's already been a whole year since my wonderful husband talked me into starting this blog. The official date is Thursday and I'll be having a giveaway everyday up through Thursday... starting now!

I found these at Target and thought they were so cool! They're ice cube trays in the shape of coffee beans! You fill them with coffee so that when you want iced coffee, it doesn't get watered down with the ice cubes. More coffee to go around!

Ok, here's how this will work. Comment on every post this week and I will announce the winners on Friday August 5th. All comments on this post will go to this prize, same with tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday.
