Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

In case you didn't catch it, we're pregnant!!! According to our 12 week ultrasound, we have a healthy baby due June 30th and couldn't be more excited. This pregnancy has already had it's ups and downs but I'll go into those later. :) This is why I haven't been posting much lately. I've been super nauseous and way too tired to do any crafting. :( But I think I'm slowly coming out of that so here's to crafting again... hopefully!

Have a great Chrsitmas!!!

Thanksgiving 2012

Hi all!!! Sorry I've been a little quiet. We've been busy with family stuff.

We went over to my mom's house on Tuesday afternoon after Carver got out of school. It was a day earlier than I thought so I was scrambling to get everything ready and not forget something. It was also the day that we needed to pick up all the wreaths people bought from Carver for his school's fundraiser. They were hoping to get $3,000 to fund a new playground set (it's a non-profit Christian preschool) and they got over $11,000!!! How awesome! So anyways, we got everything loaded - in the POURING rain - and headed out of town. I think that extra day made everything more relaxing. Chris was able to duck/goose hunt almost every day.

We had Thanksgiving at my Mom's on Thursday. Then after Carver fell asleep my mom and I got in the car and headed to Yakima (45min away) to go to Walmart and Target. I wouldn't have gone that night if I didn't have a choice. Carver has been talking about how he wants a camo jeep just like Noah's and we just tell him to keep saving his money and he'll be able to get it. Well... I saw that Walmart had a battery operated camo SUV that in all actuality looks like a jeep! So we had to go. Then we got in line for Target. We were only in line for about 20-30min before we got inside the store. We opted not to get a cart, which was a perfect idea. After getting the few things we wanted, we waited in line to pay for AN HOUR AND A HALF!!!! It was crazy. We were both tired and our feet were killing us by the time we paid. We got home around 11:30pm and then Carver woke everyone up at 5:30am. Yay! So we went to Fred Meyer to get socks, mainly. Then we picked up my brother, Jake, and went back down to Yakima to go to Cabelas and the mall.

While we were at the mall, we ran into Carver's preschool teacher! It turns out she grows up in Naches (another small town close to Yakima). Carver got a little confused when he saw her and started crying but got over it quickly. He thought it was pretty cool that Nana and Pops got to meet Miss Erin. :)

After the mall, we came back to Ellensburg and Chris, Carver, Jake and I went to my grandma's for another Thanksgiving with my dad and his wife. We were a little late but it was a good time. After we left there, Chris dropped me off at Starbucks to have coffee with a friend and talk logistics about her baby shower I'm hosting, and Chris and Carver went out to Chris's uncle's house to deliver his wreath. Oh! I totally forgot to give my grandma and dad their wreaths! I got all the way home and realized they were still in my mom's garage. Thanks mom for dropping them off! :) Anyways, it was great catching up with Colleen and we've got a starting point for her baby shower. She's having a little boy in May. :)

Saturday morning, we helped my mom set up their Christmas tree and headed home. We had about 45min at home before we had to be at Chris's parents house for yet another Thanksgiving. Surprisingly, I didn't eat turkey at any of the meals we had. Guess I haven't fully recovered my meat eating from being pregnant. Sunday turned out to be a lazy, relaxing day. We were supposed to set up our Christmas decorations but never got around to it (or today, either, for that matter). Hopefully tomorrow we'll get some of it done.

That's what we did. It was a whirlwind and we're still recovering a little but it was a lot of fun. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up more on other things sometime soon. These dark evenings make me tired way too early.

Happy Black Friday!

Have you noticed that Black Friday has turned into Black Thursday? It's starting to get ridiculous! I could justify starting at Midnight, but 9:00pm? That's pushing it. If I kept my same schedule and went at 6am Friday morning, everything would be gone! So my mom and I will be driving to Yakima (45min away - because there's only a Fred Meyer in Ellensburg) at 8pm after Carver goes to sleep. We'll hit all the big stores (Michaels, Target and Walmart) and then do Fred Meyer on Friday morning. This might make the bulk of shopping less tiring since we'll be breaking it up but it still makes me frustrated.

Ok, enough ranting. Here's fun card I made using Pink by Design's Black Friday set. The current challenge over on the Pink by Design blog is to use your favorite background. I thought for sure I had the big dots background stamp but I guess I need to go shopping. :) So, my favorite background is big polka dots but my second is dictionary paper. These two sheets are actually the same since it's double sided.

Warmest Wishes

I'm back! The hole is still there but I moved my desk back to *almost* the same spot so I could get some crafting done. I've been busy making notebooks for a craft show I'm doing this weekend (see all the information below).

I made this super cute card and love how it came together. The colors were exactly what I was thinking. Don't you love when that happens?

An unexpected pause...

I was sitting in the office on Monday when I heard a GUSH on the other side of the house. I thought that I had left the water running in the sink and it overflowed... I came out to GALLONS of water dumping on top of my Cricut!! I yanked that out of the wall so fast. Then yelled at Carver to grab some towels. He stopped where he was and yelled "ACTIONS STATIONS TEAM!!!!" (It's from Bob the Builder). I called Chris and he came home to help. I went through ten bath towels before he got back. The kicker was that it was a nice, sunny day. It had poured the night before though. So when Chris got home, he pulled the rest of the ceiling tiles down and there was STILL more water collected in the plastic holding the moldy insulation up. Yes, I said moldy. So gross!!! We opened the window and he threw it all out into the yard so he could get a better look at what was going on. He found a rusted spot in the roof which he thinks he has fixed. But... I'm too worried to move anything back to where it goes. So everything is a mess and out of place. BUT, my Cricut works!!!! I'm so thankful that it wasn't ruined.

Here's how it looks right now.
I have a party at my house this weekend (31 Gifts, if anyone wants/needs anything... hint hint!) so I have to do something before then. So, needless to say, I doubt I'll be doing much crafting before next week. I'm going to a scrapbook expo on Saturday so I'll try to post all my goods. :)

Pink by Design has this stamp set that is amazing. It's called Subway Art. It looks like a background stamp but they are all different stamps. So you can use them individually or all together (like I did here). That is how I got the Be Grateful and Love Always in a different color.

Little Socks

When I was making yesterday's card, it cut out these socks with the dress. I was originally going to just throw them away since they didn't go with my idea for the card. Then it came to me that I could make a card with just the socks! As Carver would say, "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!" (Thanks Bob the Builder for teaching my son about the three R's.)

Wishing You Sparkle

**Today is the last day for voting on the Master Craft challenge. I'd love it if you would head over and vote for me. :) (I'm #27)

I had a craft show last weekend (it went pretty well, by the way) and figured I should make some boxes of Christmas cards to have. It's a good thing I did because my Grandma stopped buy and bought them all!! haha

Here's the first set I made. Since you can get 6 mats from a 12x12 sheet of paper, I made a box of 5 and an individual card.

Blast Off!

There is one more day to vote on the Master Craft challenge over at Pink Cricut. I would love it if you would head over and vote for me. (psst! I'm #27). :)

I was busy with lots of crafting while I was also doing the Master Craft projects. So I'm going to be slowly getting those posted. I actually did a whole bunch of crafting in the last few weeks. Yay me!!

This was a fun, different card for me. I haven't been participating in challenges lately but I like to keep a list of what the current challenges are so I can use them as inspiration. If I remember right, this was for a transportation theme.

Thoughts

This is a post for the Master Craft Challenge at Pink Cricut. Voting will begin on Oct 4th at 12:01am CST. I would love it if you would vote for me. :)

I've been trying to use all the challenge materials on my projects. On of them was a scissor mouse from Westcott. Since it's a  tool, it doesn't show up in the projects, but I have been using it. Its a fun little tool and Carver has even tried it out. :) I've found that using a ruler/straight edge helps with getting a really straight line but you don't have to use it. This would probably be a really fun tool to use for wrapping presents too!

One of the challenge materials was this cute bag from State Line Bag Co. I knew I wanted to do a coffee theme but it sat on my desk for awhile while I mulled it over in my head. Here's what I finally came up with. :) It's hard to tell, but there's some green & brown twine on the top left.

Ghostly Greetings

Yay! I'm back! Sarah from Pink Cricut is having a Master Craft challenge right now. Only 100 people were able to participate since we were given challenge materials to work with (think Craft Wars on TLC). Those 100 spots filled up in less than 10 hours (and a majority of those were sleeping hours)! We were challenged to create with the materials we were given and then there will be a link up on Oct 4th over at Pink Cricut. But never fear for those that couldn't get in. You'll be voting on the projects. You can check out this post for all the details.

Here's the first project I did when I saw all the skulls in the DCWV Rockstar stack.

Roarin to go!

My internet was down... again! So that's why I haven't posted in awhile. A technician was supposed to come out yesterday (the ticket said 10:37am to be exact) but we ended up calling at 3pm and again at 7pm because he never showed! It was so frustrating to sit at home all day yesterday waiting for someone that never showed up. I made Chris call both times because I was so frustrated. I kept Carver home from a field trip (to a children's museum type place) because he was supposed to come right in the middle of the field trip. Anyways, he came out this morning and fixed the problem in 15 minutes!! Yay! I'm back in the land of the living. I've got a whole bunch of projects to post so I'll get on those later tonight while Chris and Carver play outside. :)

Happiness is...

I got these two Memory Box dies at the last scrapbook expo I went to and have been itching to use them. They are so easy to work with and are a nice change of pace from using the Cricut (I still love you Cricut!). I only had about 5 minutes to make a card so I'm pretty happy with what I came up with. I literally just threw everything together.

Another Layout

Good morning!! Here's another layout. :) I'm kind of getting into a groove and I'm loving it! I think a majority of it is that I got a ring bound scrapbook album to put all my pictures and the paper/stickers/etc that go with them into it as a holding place. That way, I just look at the first couple pictures and scrapbook those. It's my cheap version of a Scrap Rack.

These are the first pictures (not counting the ones in the layout from yesterday) after Carver was born.
Sorry they're so washed out. We have a bunch of smoke hanging around and it's messing with my lighting. If you haven't heard, pretty much the entire state of Washington is on fire. It's pretty crazy.

First Day of Preschool!

This is going to be a non-crafty post. I'll post my teacher gift and card for Carver tomorrow.

Carver started Preschool today! All last week he was saying he didn't want to go but he woke up this morning soooo excited to get to the school!!!
Quick picture with Chris before he had to go to work. Chris was able to stop by the school for drop off so he got to see Carver again before school started. Notice the baby pictures on the way. He's growing up WAY too fast.
Carver and I had the same idea :)
Breakfast #1. I told Carver we could go to Starbucks for breakfast before school. However... I took a load of stuff to the car before we left and got locked out of the house!! Carver was with me so don't worry. But my phone and keys were all in the house. So we ran around to the back door to find out it was locked too. I tried to leverage it open (it's like a school bus window) but that didn't work. So I took a trusty hammer and smashed in the window. I have to say, it felt kind of good, but then I had to clean up the mess and call Chris to let him know. Anyways, with all that, we only had time to run into Starbucks, get my coffee and Carver's bagel and run back out. He ate some of it in the car on the way. That actually worked out pretty good. I stuck the cream cheese in the fridge at the church (I had MOMS group) and Carver was able to eat the rest on the way home after school.
 Is it time yet?

Check out my backpack! He wouldn't take it off.
 Checking out the sign.
 Handsome boy
The deer had to get in there too
