Blast From the Past #2

This is the second week of Blast from the Past! This week I have a pocket card that I used for my sister-in-law's baby shower. I got the tutorial here. She's having a boy and their 'theme' for the nursery is blue, brown and stars so this fit perfectly!

Blast From the Past #1

While I was rearranging some things in my crafting area, I came across all of my 'extra' cards. The extras from when I make batch cards for something. I tend to keep the extras along with any labels, notes, etc in case I want to make more.

Well I found some cards that I'd never posted! So over the next 9 weeks, I'm going to post one card a week on Mondays. I'm going to call it Blast from the Past (hence the post title) since it was a trip down memory lane.

Let's get started with the first card!

This was the Christmas card we mailed out last Christmas (2009). It was a lot more time consuming than I originally thought since I wasn't going to color the monkeys. Luckily, my good friend Mallorie came over and helped. :) Not all of the patterned papers were the same so that changed the border papers but you get the idea.

A sunshiney day

Carver decided to draw Ash, my brother's girlfriend, a picture. Her favorite color is pastel yellow so I decided to make a quick card to put with Carver's picture. I just wrote on the back of the sun. Easy peasy!

Pink

I was working on Valentine's cards and I looked over and saw this sea of pink! I had to take a picture. :)

It made me happy. :)

Better late, then never

I figured it was about time to show you the Christmas cards I mailed out this year.

It's a classic Z-fold card. I only made 50 this year. The only difference between the cards is the patterned paper. However, they all have a snowflake theme.

Through Rain, Snow, Sleet or Shine...

**I found my mojo!**

Over the last couple months, I have had two packages stolen and I have no idea how many envelopes. When Chris bought the property six years ago, he knew that the area was prone to baseball bat attacks but never this. What heard on the news that a couple areas in the harbor had mail theft but we didn't think anything of it. But after not receiving ANY mail between Christmas and New Years we decided it was time to get a secure mailbox.

We found this one, for cheaper than we budgeted I might add! It looks like a regular mailbox, as you can see, but when you open the door, there's a slot at the top where the mail goes. Then it drops into the bottom part where you need a key to open.

At a loss...

I sat down at my desk tonight while Carver ate dinner... and couldn't find the creative mojo to craft something. :( HELP! It's missing and I don't know where it went! I don't think I've actually crafted anything in 2011. Sure, I've organized and put things away, but I haven't crafted.

So tonight, while the hubbs and I watch tv, I'll be surfing blogs trying to find inspiration. If you have anything that you think will get the juices flowing, PLEASE link me up to them!

THANK YOU!

Clearing the Clutter #5

We're doing something a little different this year for Clearing the Clutter. Instead of posting every two weeks, we're going to post on the first Friday of each month. Between Lorie's and my schedules we're a little too busy this year. Go to this post if you want to read all about the challenge.

Now onto the clutter! Between the holidays and being out of town, my desk has disappeared. So I decided to take the challenge literally and clear all the clutter from my desk. That way, I have space to actually craft! See what I mean?!?

I still have a little more to do but it looks A LOT better! Just looking at that desk was getting me stressed. haha It helped that I had my new cart. It's already been filled up! Top drawer is for buttons, jute, etc. The middle drawer holds my punches and the bottom drawer is for my Bind-it-all. I'm still trying to figure out a child proof way to store paper in the bottom slots. Any ideas??

Here's the finished product of my desk!

Now, head over to Lorie's Blog and see what clutter she's cleared from her desk! As always, if you would like to participate in the challenge, just leave a link in a comment!

Have a great weekend!
