A different kind of layout

I'm on a roll with layouts!!! Hopefully this keeps up!

I found this picture that my 'niece' Alea drew for me back in 2008. She was about 18mo when she drew this and she gave it to me as a present. :) So I had to put it in her scrapbook, of course.

oops... i forgot to flip this one. sorry! :(

Furbaby layout

These are my furbabies! We have two rottweiller mixes and I love them to bits. On the left is Rocky and he's half rott, 1/4 lab and 1/4 shepherd. On the right is Kenya and she's half rott and half newfundlund. The tags pull out where I put the journaling. I used The Scrappiest's sketch 122 for this set of layouts and Kenya's page is a mirror image.

Today is just MY day I guess!!!

I was just going about my day, when I saw Sarah from Pink Cricut's Stamptastic Tuesday post. (I was never able to get to reading blogs yesterday.) She gave me a shout out!!!! Click here to see the link. They're having an AWESOME sale on one of their bundles, $15 OFF!! If you don't have her stamps, this is a great way to get started.

Then I was plugging along on my reading when I saw The Creative Crate's Creative-ly U Project Parade. She has a link up party every weekend and then at the beginning of the week, she does a parade of some of the projects that caught her eye. Well this week was all 4th of July inspired so I linked up my 4th of July Bunting card. As I was scrolling through all of the fun projects that she had on the parade, I SAW MY CARD!!!!!!!!!!! How cool is that?!?!?!? Head over and check it out, and all the other amazing projects by clicking HERE. I'm the 14th link posted (yes, I counted haha). Isn't that tutu to die for!

I'm going to post a layout a little later... after Monkey goes to sleep. I actually have two done but I'll post one of them tomorrow. I'm on a roll with layouts right now and I'm loving it!!

Thank you cards for Carver's birthday

I needed to make some thank you cards for all the presents that Carver got for his birthday. I wanted to keep with the construction theme so this is what I came up with. They are just notecards with the writing on the back. The stamp is supposed to go with an elephant since it's in the Jungle Fever stamp set by Pink by Design but it works perfectly with a dump truck!!!

Prayer Journal

My brother's girlfriend requested another journal. Since her birthday is on Monday, I decided to just make it her birthday present. The journal I gave her for Christmas had a travel theme since she had just returned from a couple months in Kenya. You can see that journal HERE. It's the 2nd journal pictured. It was hard to get an idea of what I wanted to do for this journal so I went through my stash of masks and stamps that I rarely used and here's what I came up with. I love how I distressed the tag and added a stamp to it.

Back cover

Inside the front cover - I added a tag and holder. The tag has a note from me. On all the prayer journals I make, I add Bible verses on random pages and I did the same here.

Get Well Sun

I realized that I didn't have many get well cards on hand so I made a quick one. Well, to be honest, I cut the sun and clouds (the bottom two are one that I cut in half) on Friday before we headed out of town for the weekend. Today I just had to put it all together.

A Little Stress Reliever

A couple days before Carver's party I was stressing - for no reason, I might add - so I sat down at my craft desk to make a pink girly card for myself. This is what I came up with. It always amazes me how crafting relieves so much stress. I can just sit down and everything else fades away.

4th of July Bunting Card

**This is my second post of the day. Scroll down to see my airplane card**

I think that this will be my last 4th of July card... I think. I wanted to make one more but didn't want to do the same idea as the other cards I'd made. So I enlisted my husband to help me find something that would work. He found this bunting (that's what it's called, right?) on the Old West cartridge and it was perfect! I'm submitting this to the Peachy Keen Face it Friday challenge where we had to create a patriotic project and use a face.

Airplane Birthday Wishes

Patches of Pink

I made this for
Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge. This week's challenge was to use any Lite cartridge. Since I've fallen in love with B is for Boy because of Carver's birthday, I was definitely going to use this cartridge. But I wanted to use a cut that I'd never done before so I picked this airplane. It goes perfectly with Pink by Design's Cloudy Days background stamp too. :)

Summer's coming... *fingers crossed*

I found these flip flops on the Pink Journey cartridge and it worked perfectly with Mr. Pink's challenge on the Pink by Design message board. I also used Peachy Keen's current sketch (#54) to help the juices flow.

I had this great idea to twist the ribbon but it didn't turn out exactly how I had pictured. Hmm... I'll have to try again.

Carver's Birthday!!!

Today was Carver's 2nd birthday party. It was a blast and Carver had a lot of fun - even though he went the whole day without a nap!

Here's the banner I made. The details will be at the bottom of the post.

I made these big dump trucks to hang around the house. We had to move the party inside because of the rain. (B is for Boy, fit to page - 10.75in)

The birthday boy! If you want to see more pictures you can go to our family blog, The Garland Fam.

Busy, busy, busy...

I've been super busy with party prep the last couple days. I'll try to post some pictures of the other crafts I made for the party, and the birthday boy, of course. :) I also have 4-5 projects to post so I'll try to get at least one up tomorrow. After this weekend our lives should be back to normal. :)

Birthday card for Sarah!

My brother's girlfriend's birthday is the week after Carver's so I wanted to be sure to make her card early. I've actually had this card done since before Memorial day! I just wanted to wait until closer to her birthday to post it. I used Mojo Monday's Sketch #190 for some inspiration.

Carver's 2nd Birthday Invitations

Carver's birthday is a construction theme this year. Can I just say that I LOVE to party plan! That said, I feel like I've started a lot later than last year and I feel like I have a lot more to do. That'll go away when we buy his present (he's getting a bbq to sit next to daddy's haha)

I came up with a lot of the wording, and enlisted Etsy for a couple ideas. :)

Paper Playtime Ch#48

Today is Paper Playtime's challenge of the month. This month the challenge is to do a z-fold card. Head on over to Paper Playtime to see what the rest of the design team came up with. :)

Can you believe I made 20 of these? And got them done within 24hrs? And that I haven't even started on my Father's Day cards yet? haha It was a whirlwind of a project but I can't complain. :)

Wedding Stamp

My long-time friend's youngest brother is getting married this summer. It's crazy to believe that the first time that my friend and I really hung out was because her mom was in labor with this brother! It's crazy how time flies. (Given, he's only 18yrs old but still...). Anyways, I needed to make a card for them and Cricut Cardz is having a challenge to create a wedding card. Perfect!!

Simple 4th of July card

I made this one for a challenge on the Pink by Design message board. You can check out the message board HERE. The challenge was to create a card without using your cricut/die cutter. I didn't realize how much I relied on my cricut until this challenge! It definitely took more thinking than usual. I love this stamp set that Sarah released in May. I put glossy accents on the 4 to bring it out a little more.
