Duck Hunting Layout

I've found that if I keep the next set of pictures that I need to scrapbook on my desk, I'm more likely to scrapbook them. I figure, I can percolate ideas and when that perfect idea comes to mind, I set it to paper. That's what happened with this layout. I had the pictures and the duck sitting there for a week or so before I thought of the target idea.

I did a center point feature using George & Basic Shapes (except for the largest circle, that's why it's off centered).

Thank You Cards for a Baby Shower

There was another baby shower at our church. They are both having girls so I decided to make them both thank you cards. I made 10 for each of them and did half with the gingham paper and half with the small dots.

I also made the boxes to put the cards in. I got the tutorial from Ruthie at September Ninth. It took a little math but once you got that figured out, it was pretty easy.

Everyone loved the cards and were amazed that I made the boxes too. :)

A Banner for my Nephew

My nephew turned one on May 10th and so, of course, I had to make a banner for him. :) I wanted to try out the banners on Birthday Bash since I need to do a banner for monkey's birthday. I love how it turned out but I'm going to add another pennant between Happy and Birthday that'll be blank so that I can add something for if they have a themed birthday (ie. dump truck).

Cloudy Day

I got some more Pink by Design stamps in the mail and made the time to play with them. :) I've been eye-ing the cloud background stamp since it came out, so I finally decided to get it since I had some birthday money to spend.

I wanted the blue to be a little pixilated so that's why it's not a crisp blue. I'm submitting this to the Fantabulous Cricut challenge - Blue Skies

Card by Carver and some catch up

Carver was hanging around my scrapbooking area so I put him to work. I pulled out my binder that has a print out of all the cartridges (just the back of the box images) and let him flip through until he found something he liked. He landed on B is for Boy and pointed to the car. So we went from there. He also picked out the colors of the car (reverse order of the actual car) and the patterned paper. I took it from there with everything else. He actually pushed all the buttons on the cricut and everything. Of course, I had to tell him what to push but he had so much fun!

Now onto some catch up...
*I decided on the Big Shot over the Cuttlebug. I want to be able to use the bigger dies and I heard that you can't do that with the Cuttlebug. And it's already black and pink (the colors of my future craft room). I ordered it from JoAnns with some birthday gift cards and it should be here on Tuesday. Too bad we're leaving on Thursday for the weekend. haha

*I bit the bullet and ordered my first Stampin' Up ink pads. I got the brights set and, so far, I really like them. I also got Chocolate Chip because my brown ink pad had bit the dust. Also in that order I got some dimensionals and the ticket stub punch. Yay me!

*I'm kind of in a slump as far as crafting goes. I have a bunch of projects that need to be finished before Monkey's birthday party in June and I'm dragging my feet on them. Hopefully being away from home (and the internet!!!) will jump start my crafting mojo. *Fingers crossed*

*Can I just say, I'm not really into the gypsy. Small screen, have to load up all the cartridges, cartridges can only be linked to one gypsy..... until I realized that I'd be gone Thurs-Tues with no.way.to.craft! If I knew someone IRL that had one I'd beg to borrow theirs for the weekend. I guess I'll just have to manage.

*My son turns 2 in less than a month!!! Soooo crazy!

*I'm thinking about applying to be one the Pink by Design Design Team...

That's it for now. Have a great day!

Got Coffee???

***This is the second post of the night. Please scroll down to see the other post***

I got my new Pink by Design stamps in the mail a couple days ago and had to play with them! I, of course, got two of the three coffee sets. I have a feeling there will be a lot of coffee themed projects around here for awhile. :) This card has the coffee background stamp and the Perk Up set. All of Sarah's stamps are awesome and recommend them to everyone.

Elk Reserve Layout

This layout was back in Feb of 2008 when we went to the Elk Reserve down below Yakima WA. We went with my best friend and her family. The elk are protected, and fed, here. This means that you can see some pretty awesome antlers!!!! Click on the pictures to make them larger. There's at least one trophy buck in there.

Yes, I now these stamps are for deer but oh well. I don't have any for elk.

Our 3rd Anniversary

Wow! I think I'm finally back in the swing of things after last weekend and blogger being down! Here's the card I made for my dear hubby for our anniversary. Sorry the lighting's off. I got this layout idea from Card Creations & More by C (I'm 99% sure). I love how it turned out and may be making a batch of these to have on hand. Yes, I know the sentiment is crooked. I wasn't thinking and laid all the layers down before stamping. Chris didn't seem to mind though. :)

Cuttlebug vs. Big Shot

I've been thinking about getting one or the other for quite awhile and since I got some birthday money, I figured now would be a good time. Here's my dilemma.

Cuttlebug:
I really really really want the raspberry/pink cuttlebug... but I can't find it anywhere!!! Not even on ebay or craigslist. :( So my thinking is that I could possibly (if I got the new version) take it apart and spray paint the green to be pink. To anyone that has the new version, would this be possible?

Big Shot:
The think I like about this is that i wouldn't have to paint it. But it takes up a lot more space than the Cuttlebug and space is a rare commodity right now (at least until we build a house and I have a room of my own). I loved my original red Sizzix machine (that I never use anymore.)

So, anyone have any advise? They're both on sale at JoAnns right now so price isn't really an issue. I'm tempted to hold off until I can find the pink Cuttlebug but I don't know when/if that'll ever be. :/

Recap on last weekend

Ok, so here's a recap of what happened around our house this weekend.

Saturday:
*We met my mom, her boyfriend, and my Gramma at Home Depot to lend them our dump truck to take a pallet of pavers to my Gramma's house.
*NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY!
*Daddy and monkey got to spend a lot of time outside working on the garden. It was actually nice out, for WA.
*I made 7 projects for the day! Yay me! It was a lot of fun and I'm glad NSD fell on a weekend this year.

Sunday:
*Mothers Day AND my 26th birthday!!!
*My mom and her boyfriend came up from my Gramma's and we all went to church.
*Then we had a BBQ with hubby's family (they all live here) and my Mom and her boyfriend. One of my brother's lives in CO and the other was a camp counselor for an 8th grade honors camp (they both called me though).
*I got some great gifts! :) aka Ergo Baby carrier, lemonade holder thing (it'll be perfect for monkey's bday party next month), lots of flowers and gift cards

So all in all, the weekend was a success. My dear husband went above and beyond on all the planning and thoughtfulness. I usually set myself up for disappointment on my birthday but I was never once remotely disappointed.

Thanks for letting me ramble! :)

NSD My Pink Stamper Ch #10

I had to take a short break and take care of my son. I don't know if I'll get the rest of the challenges done but I'm going to try! This challenge was to make a card or layout using a pet. I took the terrier from Create a Critter and cut the whiskers off the face. I used rottweiler coloring since we have two rotts and called it good. Carver LOVED the dog! He snatched it off my desk and started playing with it. haha I should've done this one for the kraft paper challenge.

I skipped #2 for right now (it's to use kraft paper) and went onto #3 which was a Breast Cancer theme. I'd never actually used my Pink Journey cart that I got with my pink Expression so this was a great opportunity to play with it. :) Head on over to My Pink Stamper to see what everyone else created and what the other challenges are!

Clearing the Clutter Challenge #9

Welcome to another month of Clearing the Clutter! For those of you who are new, go check out this post to get caught up to speed. In a nut shell, it's my personal mission, once a month, to clear/finish something that's been sitting on my desk for too long. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and cleans up my desk as well. :)

For today's post, I was clearing out a shelf on my desk and found all of these cuts that I'd been accumulating. They were either the wrong size for the project I was working on, I made extras, or I just decided not to use it. So I decided to make some cards out of them and use up some of my scraps as well. A two-fur, you might say. :)

For this one, I took a bunch of flowers that I'd cut and layered and curled them so they'd pop up. I may go back and cut out the it's a girl again since this is the shadow feature.

Last one. This one turned out really fun. I used Pink by Design's 'Here Comes the Bride' for the sentiment. Just goes to show that just because the set is for one thing, it doesn't mean they don't fit other occasions.

36 Week Layout

As promised, I did another layout and let you guys see my big pregnant belly!! I think these are, by far, my favorite pictures of when I was pregnant. They're also the last belly pictures I got before the little monkey arrived. :) I cut the silhouette out myself and I have to admit, I love the idea, but not exactly how my drawing turned out. haha Oh well.
