Cuttlebug vs. Big Shot

I've been thinking about getting one or the other for quite awhile and since I got some birthday money, I figured now would be a good time. Here's my dilemma.

Cuttlebug:
I really really really want the raspberry/pink cuttlebug... but I can't find it anywhere!!! Not even on ebay or craigslist. :( So my thinking is that I could possibly (if I got the new version) take it apart and spray paint the green to be pink. To anyone that has the new version, would this be possible?

Big Shot:
The think I like about this is that i wouldn't have to paint it. But it takes up a lot more space than the Cuttlebug and space is a rare commodity right now (at least until we build a house and I have a room of my own). I loved my original red Sizzix machine (that I never use anymore.)

So, anyone have any advise? They're both on sale at JoAnns right now so price isn't really an issue. I'm tempted to hold off until I can find the pink Cuttlebug but I don't know when/if that'll ever be. :/

  1. I would go with the Big Shot since you can use the Sizzix Bigz Dies in it (if that is something you would want to do). I have a Cuttlebug and would rather own the BS for more versatility.

I'm out of the loop too - I didn't know there was a PINK cuttlebug!! I love pink and it would match my scraproom lol!

  2. I have the Cuttlebug and love it for its size. I put away my beloved doorstopper sizzix because of its size. I never take it out. . . I didn't know there was a pink Cuttlebug. There must be some way to paint it. MPS paints everything Pink! Craftelicious@blogspot.com

  3. Hi! I am new follower. I found you thru Patches of Pink. Glad to have a new crafty friend. I have a Cuttlebug (yes, it is green) and I love it!

  4. Okay, phew...now I can comment! I think you should get the Big Shot. You are much more limited in what you can do with the Cuttlebug, as cute as it may be. No matter what you chose I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
