Gratitude

I think I'm setting myself up for potential disaster by always making thank you cards when there's a baby shower. haha They're just so practical and fun to make. My Bible Study had a baby shower last Wednesday before we left town so I made these really quick. I only had enough ribbon for half of them but this gives her a little variety. This stamp set (Definitely Definitions) by Pink by Design is fast becoming one of my favorites!!! They might need to make another set with different words (hint hint Sarah! haha)

I'm Alive!

We're still alive! We're doing ok... just hanging out as a family. I've also been trying to get Noah's life announcements finished and in the mail. Well, I got half of them done today and in envelopes before I remembered that I had forgotten the giraffe for the back. Oh well. I'm not going to open all of those envelopes. I'm waiting on the rest of the giraffe paper that I ordered so I can finish the rest.

I've also been working on my friend's baby shower. I finished the invites and got them to her mom to mail out (I'm scheduling that post for tomorrow) and now I've got the Wishes for Baby cards, a banner and cupcake toppers. These cards are going to be part of my gift to Amanda. The ones that I'm going to give her say "thank you" instead. My friend has my memory card for my camera since she is editing the pictures of Noah that are on there. So this is the only picture I have right now.

Onesie Cards For a Baby Shower

Can I preface this by saying I have been super busy lately making things for craft shows. I'm almost to a stopping point and then I am gladly getting back into cards and (hopefully) layouts!

I made 4 different types of baby onesie cards for a baby shower I went to. They all have the same layout but with different papers. Here's the first one I did. For Sara's cards, I had a black C for Charley Mae.

Onesies Galore!!!

I was low on baby cards so I set out to stock up. I started by taking a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock and did an auto fill for the onesies. I figured, as many as would fit on one sheet would be how many cards I would make. Well, 9 onesies fit on the page. So I split it up 5 gender neutral, 2 boy and 2 girl.

Thank You Cards for a Baby Shower

There was another baby shower at our church. They are both having girls so I decided to make them both thank you cards. I made 10 for each of them and did half with the gingham paper and half with the small dots.

I also made the boxes to put the cards in. I got the tutorial from Ruthie at September Ninth. It took a little math but once you got that figured out, it was pretty easy.

Everyone loved the cards and were amazed that I made the boxes too. :)

Clearing the Clutter Challenge #9

Welcome to another month of Clearing the Clutter! For those of you who are new, go check out this post to get caught up to speed. In a nut shell, it's my personal mission, once a month, to clear/finish something that's been sitting on my desk for too long. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and cleans up my desk as well. :)

For today's post, I was clearing out a shelf on my desk and found all of these cuts that I'd been accumulating. They were either the wrong size for the project I was working on, I made extras, or I just decided not to use it. So I decided to make some cards out of them and use up some of my scraps as well. A two-fur, you might say. :)

For this one, I took a bunch of flowers that I'd cut and layered and curled them so they'd pop up. I may go back and cut out the it's a girl again since this is the shadow feature.

I LOVE how this one turned out. I got the idea from a blog, but can't for the life of me remember whose it was. If this was yours, please let me know so I can give you credit. It had an N on the onesie. Thanks!

Last one. This one turned out really fun. I used Pink by Design's 'Here Comes the Bride' for the sentiment. Just goes to show that just because the set is for one thing, it doesn't mean they don't fit other occasions.

Another baby on the way!

Our church has a lot of young families so there is always babies being born. Well in the span of about a week, 4 ladies announced that they were pregnant! I made this card for one of them since she's in my MOMS group and my bible study. Two of the other ladies that are pregnant are also in my MOMS group.

Clearing the Clutter Challenge #8

For this month's challenge, I finished something that's been sitting on my desk for a couple months - except for when Carver would take it to the living room and stuff it with toys, that is. I guess he'll be able to use it next year.

If you're new to Clearing the Clutter, head to this post and see what it's all about. I post on the first Friday of the month. Feel free to join in. Just put your link in a comment. If I get enough people I'll start doing a Mr Linky.

Another Layout

I did another 2-page layout. That means I reached my goal of doing 6 pages this month! For this one I used The Scrappiest's Sketch #112 as a jumping point. These pages were for my 33wk belly pictures when I was pregnant. They weren't the best pictures but I'll give you a sneak of my adorable belly when I do another set of pictures.

Baby Shower Layout Part 1

I did a layout!!! And it took FOREVER!!! Seriously, each of these animals had 3 layers. But I finished it! And I LOVE it!!! Ok, enough drama. Onto the layouts. This was for my baby shower. My son's nursery is a monkey theme and so we went with a monkey/safari theme for the party. Sorry for the poor quality photos. I couldn't get the right lighting and I didn't want to wait for the clouds to blow over.

Clearing the Clutter Challenge #7 - Finally!

Better late than never... right? Carver's feeling a little better. He's still got a nasty cough but his nose isn't running anymore so I think we're on our way out of the woods.

Ok, onto the project! I was asked to make a banner for baby boy shower since I was making this one for a girl. These will be used for every shower that my church hosts. And I figured, since I'm making one, why not make two? I'm toying with the idea of doing a few craft fairs and I'd sell this there.

**Carver's actually taking a nap in there while I take pictures. haha Gotta love a good flash!**

It's a Girl Banner

Here's the banner I made for the baby shower last weekend. Here's how I made it:

Take a 6x12 sheet of paper and make marks at 5" and 10" on the top. On the bottom make marks at 2.5" and 7.5". You can draw cheat lines if you want and then cut. A 12x12 will make 6 triangles. For the second layer, cut triangles that are 1/4" smaller (5.5x12 and 4.5" wide).

The only place that I could find to take pictures was on Carver's crib. haha All of the other walls had too much of a glare.

A gift of cards

My MOMs group had a baby shower for one of our moms today. She has a 2 yr old little boy and is pregnant with twin girls! We were asked to buy clothes, since she'll definitely be needing them! I was part of the planning/decorating so the onesies that I bought were hung on a clothesline as decoration.

I didn't feel like that was enough so I made her some thank you cards. I did 10 of each design for a total of 20 cards. They were really simple but so adorable!

I'll post the card I made for the mama and the banner on Tuesday and Wednesday.
