Just a reminder

Just a reminder to go check out my giveaway on THIS post. You have until midnight PST on Labor Day to comment. There's a couple different ways to enter so be sure to read what they are.

Quatrefoil Birthday

I've been cleaning out some of my crafting stuff (gasp! I know!) so that it's a little more organized and I'm not holding onto things that I know I'll never use. I reorganized all of my Stampin' Up! paper that I got when I got a bunch of ink pads from an old distributor and decided to make a card with them for my mother in law's birthday (which was August 4th. I'm catching up!)

You can't see it but the middle says Happy Birthday. I used Gable Green which is super light but its beautiful in person. I had a hard time with this card because I usually do gardening type cards for her and wanted something different.

What to do with all those Christmas cards.....

So I'm one of those people that keeps Christmas cards  (well, the ones with pictures anyways) and ends up stuffing them in a drawer. I've been wanting to do something with them so that we can look back and see how families have grown and changed over the years. Then it came to me!! Heidi Swapp!! She's known for her file folder scrapbooks and they would be perfect for my Christmas cards!

This is actually the second one I've done. I didn't keep the cards the first Christmas we were married. :( When I'm done, I'll put them into one of Heidi Swapp's memory file boxes.

Yeah, the left page is blank. I didn't plan ahead on how many pages I'd need. haha
The truck card is our Christmas card for that year. When I started this I thought I was doing last years cards because that's the year I did a candy cane themed card. Oh well, I like how this turned out.

The Little Things in Life

The 13th and final challenge of Pink by Design's 2nd Anniversary was to find three things out of your junk drawer. There was also a sketch to use as a jumping off point, if you wanted (I turned the sketch on it's side). We don't have a junk drawer - there's no room for one - so I went to the next best thing... my purse! I was digging around in the bottom when I found these three pennies. I knew just the stamp to go with it and I love how it turned out. It's so much fun to add a little something different to a card.

You're all I Knead

** Be sure to check out my giveaway on THIS post**

This card was for Pink by Design's 2nd Anniversary challenge #12. This challenge was to use something around your house as inspiration. My crafting area is in our informal dining room and it's right next to the kitchen. So when I saw this challenge, the first thing I saw when I looked up was my bread maker. I am in love with my bread maker and make at least one loaf a week. It's so easy to dump in all the ingredients and click start and then go about your day. :)

Go! Fight! Win!

Football season is here and I am loving it!!! My Seahawks are 3-0 in the preseason which hasn't happened in a LONG time. I actually am more of a football fan than my husband and he played in high school!

The 11th challenge for Pink by Design's 2nd Anniversary was to do a single layer card. Normally this would be super hard for me but I had these sports stamps staring at me and football on the brain so this is what I came up with.

You are Elephant-astic!

I'm back! Ok, so I scheduled this last night but still! Pink by Design's 10th challenge was to use an animal or animal print in your project. I've been wanting to do an elephant lately (don't know why) so this is what I came up with.

You Are...

You are amazing for still coming back after I haven't posted regularly in FOREVER!!! Thank you so much for sticking with me! We finally had someone come out and it took him fixing FIVE things for the internet to boot back up. He said that if it goes out again, he'll have to put a new line from the power box into the house. Fun stuff, right?!?

Anyways, onto the card. I made this for the 9th challenge on Pink by Design's 2nd Anniversary celebration. This challenge was to use buttons somewhere in the project.

PbD Ch#1 - Home Decor

Anyone still there? I know I've been really absent lately. The main reason is that even though we got internet back, the wireless password was reset and I haven't had time to call the internet company to get it from them. Lame, I know. Another reason is that my hometown currently has a HUGE wild fire burning just north of it (Google "Taylor Bridge Fire" and you'll see how huge it is) and I've been coordinating getting donations for over 70 families that have lost their homes. I dropped all of that off yesterday. We FILLED my SUV (Toyota Highlander) and the bed of one of our trucks with donations. God is GOOD! We're coming back in two weeks for Labor Day Weekend and I think we'll be doing it again. It feels so good to be able to help in some way. My dad and some of my brothers friends are fighting the fire and so I also went and bought things that my dad said the guys fighting the fire need.

Anyways, long story short, I have a little time to post so I'm going to schedule as many posts as I can while I'm here at my mom's. I will be calling about the internet when we get home. As nice as it's been to have more non-computer time, I really miss all my blogging friends. :)

Here's my take on Pink by Design's first challenge from their 2nd Anniversary celebration. It was to do a home decor which was perfect because my mother-in-law had just given me this cork board as she was cleaning out some stuff in her old office. It will be perfect for my future craft room but needed to be altered in some way. So I pulled out my all-time favorite stamp set, Make it a Venti, and got to inking. Its definitely more "me" now. :)

Challenge #7 was to use a tag. So I used the Artisan Tag set and die to make this fun card. I wanted to make something bright and summery.

PbD Challenge #6 - Sketch

Challenge #6 was a sketch. When I first saw it I instantly thought it would make a great layout, but I didn't have the time right then to commit to a layout, so then my thoughts went straight to the Instantly set. Funny thing, after I decided to use the camera stamp, I scrolled down and ScrapGuy had done the same thing. haha Great minds think alike. :)

Pink By Design Challenge #5 - Ombre

The fifth challenge was to make something ombre (light to dark or dark to light). I instantly thought of the different coffee blends. :) So there's a blond, medium and dark roast.

Pink by Design Challenge #4 - Silhouette image

I'm still trying to figure out this Mac so it might take me a while to post these challenges. Sorry!

The 4th challenge was to use a silhouette image. I think this might be one of my favorite cards I made that day! It reminds me so much of Carver and Noah. Carver has been playing with Noah and Noah goes wherever we go now. I love that Carver can still play with his brother even though Noah's not here.

PbD Challenge #3

Yay! I've finally got internet (sort of). We have internet on the desktop but the wireless isn't working now. :(

Last weekend Pink By Design celebrated their 2nd Anniversary with a challenge ever hour and a Ustream to cap off the night. We had already committed to do a walk for CareNet that morning so I was hoping to get a few of the challenges out of the way before we left and that's when I realized that our internet wasn't working.

So off we went to the walk. We ended up not actually doing the walk (don't worry, we had already given our money so it wasn't a lost cause) because Chris's knee was acting up. So we ended up coming home after chatting with some friends from church. Then off the boys went to go crabbing and left me to somehow figure out how to keep up on the challenges so that I could still craft with everyone. I got everything done by the next morning and had a lot of fun! I'm still bummed that I didn't get to post anything though.

I'll post the first two challenges when I get those pictures off my laptop and onto the desktop... or when we get our wireless back. :)

The third challenge was embossing. I had just picked up the Wall Decor & More embossing set from Cricut rewards and I got it just for this embossing folder. :) This is one of my favorite stamp sets! It's called Definitely Definitions.
